What is Geothermal Energy?

Down in the bedrock there is a source of heat that stays at practically the same temperature all year round. This source can be used to heat your home or other buildings. The heat energy can be transferred to an existing conventional waterborne heating system and can also be used to produce hot water. It is used to its optimum performance with under floor heating. The heat is collected from the bedrock and the groundwater by drilling one or more deep boreholes. A heat pump is used to collect and transfer heat to the heating system of the house. Savings of up to 60% on your heating bills can be achieved – compared with conventional heating systems.
